BEZ M'AMY which in English means ' ' without mother '' is a charitable, non-for- profit, on governmental organization founded in the Czech republic in 2006 by Ondrej Horecky and his wife Tereza Horecka.
This organization was registered at the ministry of interior, with registration number.27036847.
The new board, which was created in 2010, consists of five members, each of them having his/her own experience with work in Tanzania.
The chairman of the organization is Toma's Gongol, while two other members of the board are Michal Sot'ak and Michaela Gongolova.
Horecky continues being an active, member being involved in most of the projects, and Chris Zacharia who joined Bez M'amy in 2011 continues to be the organizations representative in Africa.
The main objective of the organization is to help and support children in Africa, especially orphans.
Due to the HIV/AIDS the number of children living without their parents is increasing every year.
Zacharia who is an African representative told the Guardian in an interview conducted recently in Mbeya that, these children are usually taken care of by their closest relatives, grandparents, uncles, aunties etc.
He said the children themselves some times suffer from lack of food and money as well, and thus the poverty of all deepens.
''We believe that with our love and dedication the children will be better prepared for their future lives'', Zacharia remarked.
He said apart from providing regular meals, healthcare and education, their main goal is to support the children so that they can grow to independent and adults wi8th are healthy and proper approach to life.
Zacharia further pointed out that hand in hand with this key idea there are other supporting targets, which should create an environment favorable for achieving the main objective.
'' We therefore strive to support local communities so that they become self dependent, especially in the healthcare and processing of the natural resources, but also help the people without their own sources of income or necessary Medicaments, and support the local Christian communities'' he said.
OPERATING AREA
We are focusing on the Mbeya region which is in Tanzania, East Africa.
Mbeya is the provincial capital which lies at 1700 meters above sea level.
The main tribes are the Nyakyusa, Safwa, Nyiha, Ndali, Malila, Bungu and Wasangu.
Approximately 60 kilometers east of the town there is a farmers village known as Mahango, where there is no electricity, good roads or regular access to water, and this is the place where we are based and work.
OUR ACHIEVEMENT
We have managed to achieve a good deal of work in Mahango since the creation of the organization.
First of all a missionary house has been built, which serves as a center for the local congregation of the catholic nuns ''sisters of our lady queen of the Apostles.
The main goal of the nuns is to take care of the orphans,
their education and healthcare, and without their life –long sacrifices and
love we would not be able to operate in Africa at all.
Next to the missionary house we have built a small orphanage
hosting 8 children, and at the moment we are raising funds to extend the
orphanage.
‘’We are currently building two larger dormitories, one
for the boys and another one for girls,
each providing living for up to 70 children’’ said Zacharia.
The money spent on these projects alone amounts to about
Mil.90 /=,and the next project which will consist on building a Dinning room, Kitchen
and a store will spend about Mil.29/=.
To make sure we achieve our goal in a short time and help as
many children as possible we decided to register another local organization in
Tanzania without mother organization (WMO) with 12 local members from Mbeya
especially in Mahango and our African representative Zacharia became the
chairman of WMO.
Bez m’amy supports about 53 orphans in Mbeya region at
Mahango Village, and few are in Sumbawanga, Rukwa region.
WMO was registered in Tanzania by the Ministry of home Affairs,
with registration number S.A18016 in February 2012.
WMO closely supervisor daily activities of our projects in Tanzania,
and with their cooperation between Bez m’amy and WMO we have seen the fast
moving and success of the planned projects.
SCHOOL
PROJECTS AT KAJUNJUMELE
It is not enough to provide food, clothing and a shelter for
the orphans, but it is crucial to arrange suitable education, healthcare and
prepare them so that they can integrate into the society.
In the cooperation with the US Embassy we have therefore
contributed towards setting up Kajunjumele Nursery School where orphans can
come for free and in the age 3-6, who can learn how to read, write and do basic
maths.
There is a primary school we support in the nearby village
which the children can attend too.
In the framework of the project ‘’school to school’’ we have
managed to purchase desks for the schools in Mahango as well as neighboring
Simike.
The renovation of some classrooms of Kisa, Galula and
Ilasilo primary schools as coasted about Mil.1/= each, and in order to provide
further education, more finance is needed, and since 2007 we have been
supporting some children at their high school studies.
The money figure which has been mentioned above is being provided
every year, while the next project of constructing dormitory number 2 will cost
about Mil.55/=.
The complex of our projects should lead to the independent
of children, and unlike most other similar organizations we do not have worry
about bureaucratic and other expenses.
The total cost of all the projects is more than Mil.150/=
